And of course, after meeting you and your family and seeing Hazel & Dozer and the environment in which they're
raised, I couldn't get a puppy from anywhere else.

I wish I could keep Libby little for a while, they grow so fast. She finally lost the last of her baby teeth on Saturday
and is looking like such a big girl with her new teeth. They're coming in beautifully and she's done great, she loves
to chew on her toothbrush. I think she's gonna have her daddy's ears and her mommy's eyes. Her eyes are still
green and her ears stick straight out, so cute.
Give hugs & kisses to Hazel, Dozer (poor guy) and Reba & I'll do the same to Libby.

Hey Tania.  Libby keeps me pretty busy. She demands lots of attention and I'm very happy to give it to her. Whenever
I'm busy and she wants to play she whines and grunts until I drop what I'm doing to play with her. I don't mind though,
in fact, I really love it that she wants me to play with her. She loves it when I pretend to sneak up on her. She will grab
her toy in her mouth then wrap her paws around it so I can't get it, then she gets really excited and bounces around
like a bunny until I grab it and we each tug on it while she growls and barks. The sound of her barking with a toy in her
mouth is really funny. Occasionally she barks so hard that she spits out the toy. She loves squeaky toys and now that
she's stronger she can really make them squeak. Fortunately we haven't lost any squeakers yet and all of the stuffing
is still intact. She also loves to play ball and a deflated plastic bottle makes lots of fun sounds and is fun to chase. And
she's become quite the little thief. Any time I put down something within her reach she takes it and hides it. For a while I
thought I was losing it because I kept forgetting where my pen was, until I caught her one day. I found several pens, a
lighter and a key stuffed in the back of the couch.  Hopefully that's her only hiding spot. She also likes baths. Now that
she's bigger she can climb into the bathtub by herself and often she'll climb in while I'm in the shower and bark until I
scrub her. I had to get some shampoo from the vet that is soap-free and some conditioner and bath oil so that her skin
doesn't get too dry. And a bath to her is like espresso so I have to plan showers when I have time to play afterward.
Now that she's completed her vaccines we can go to the dog park and she loves it. I take her during the day when it's
not crowded and before it gets too hot. She's not brave enough to jump in and run with the big dogs but fortunately
there have been other puppies there to hang out with. And, like Zoey, before she plays with the puppies she greets
every person there, giving kisses to anyone who will let her.

Hopefully you can tell how much fun we're having together. She's absolutely beautiful and still has such sweet and
loving personality. Many people have told me that she's the friendliest dog they've ever met. She's like Zoey in a lot of
ways, like the way she leans back when she sits and the way she licks my eyelids to wake me up. They would've loved
each other. Occasionally it makes me sad when I see those similarities but then I realize that they keep those
memories alive. Though I still miss Zoey & Zena very much, it's impossible to be sad when I look at Libby's face.
Getting her is the best thing I could've done for myself and I will always be grateful to you for letting me have her. I hug
and kiss her all the time and I tell her every day how beautiful she is and how much I love her.

At 16 wks she was 25 lbs. so she's probably close to 30 now.  Her training is coming along, it took her a while to learn
down so that slowed us a bit but she finally got it and we moved on and she does great on a leash-no pulling. As far as
our upcoming activities, next week I'm taking her on a play date with the local bulldog club for the first time, hopefully
there will be other puppies there. And now she'll be able to go to Yappy Hour at The Barkery-a doggie bakery and
shop on Main St. downtown. My nephews (17, 16 & 10) want to come for a visit before school starts so that'll be soon.
Libby & I visit them about every 2 wks in Asheville and they love playing with her.

That's about it for now. Just know that she's doing great. She's healthy and happy, getting lots of affection and loved
very much. Say hello to your family for me. I still think of your grandma often and I kiss Libby for her like she asked me
to. I hope she's doing well.

Take care and we'll keep in touch.

The weather here is changing to spring so we've been going to the dog park on the weekend. Of course it is
packed but there's always a playmate. Libby is still uncertain about bigger dogs, she much prefers puppies or
other dogs her size or smaller. She did make an exception for a Great Dane puppy but only after she saw it
play with others. But before she seeks out a playmate she makes the rounds to say hello to all the people and
so many come to talk to me about her and many want to take her home. She's definately one of the most
popular dogs in the park, you'd be proud.  Give Hazel, Dozer & Reba hugs & kisses. I'll keep in touch. Thanks.

I have to tell you a something funny from the dog park yesterday. Libby has a new boyfriend, a French bulldog
named Bernie. As you know she won't play with the big dogs yet and since it's been so crowded on the
weekend, I've been taking her after lunch during the week when it's not so intimidating. So yesterday it was love
at first sight for Bernie.  He started out by nuzzling her neck then came the kisses. As long as she played with
the small dogs he roamed around and left her to play. But as soon as a bigger dog came to check her out, he
immediately ran to her side and positioned himself between the bigger dog and Libby and barked until they left
her alone. Then he would give her kisses and leave her alone to play with the puppies. They had everyone in
the park standing around them watching this incredible display of love and protection all wishing we had
brought our cameras.  Libby is definately the star of the park, especially among the regulars. Hardly a day goes
by that I don't mention your name because everyone wants to know where I got her. It's been a great way to
meet new people. Hope you're feeling the love cause I'm singing your praises girl.
Hugs & kisses to all & thanks again for your help.

"Rio" is now know as Libby.  She lives with Lisa in Greenville,
SC.  She hopefully will be a therapy dog someday!
